Do you know what happened here? What pressure do you think this turbo was putting on a 1.9tdi engine?

If you don't know what happened here, we'll explain 😉
⚠ OVERSPEEDING...when the turbo spins at a speed higher than the recommended limits and parameters, it eventually fails and damages the turbo's internal components.
It's very important to draw attention to this problem because if the turbo is in this imbalance and is not corrected correctly and in a timely manner, other serious problems will occur, such as damage to the turbo's internal components or potentially complete engine failure.
What can cause overspeeding?
Excessive speed can, among other things, be caused by a leak in the supercharging circuit. Other causes may be a turbo incorrectly sized for the engine in question or improperly adjusted, injection deficiencies, pressure control circuit failures, or incorrect turbo installation.
These damages, restrictions, losses, or inadequate component choices will cause the turbo to spin faster (work harder) to deliver the same required volume of air to the engine. This excessive rotation/load creates excessive heat, reduced performance, and accelerated wear on the turbo and even the engine!
In this scenario, the turbine and compressor will be overloaded, suffering direct deformations in their original form until the compressor completely fails. The metal that disintegrates can go straight to the engine, and the consequences, well, we already know that they can be catastrophic...
Careful maintenance of the vehicle and its components on an individual level, as well as competent installation of the turbo and other peripherals and proper tuning of the vehicle, is all that is needed to avoid problems!
